After seven years of our fabulous and unique, creative wee Garden Shop, the time has come for me and Amanda to hang up our twine aprons…

twine will be closing her doors towards the end of November.

We have loved every minute of it (well most of it, with the exception of navigating Brexit and Covid) … the gathering of & faffing with fabulous finds…

We thank you all; our fabulous enthusiastic and loyal customers… we couldn’t have done it without you! It has just been such a joy to meet you all over the years.

The majority of the stock has 40% off so please do come and see us and perhaps pick up a twine bargain.
(Wreaths are the exception…)

What is the collective noun for a group of tureens… beautiful enamel tureens showing their age, life & laughter lines!

How fabulous would these look as a table centrepiece either individually or as a group down the centre of a long table …

They are water/soup tight… (well all the ones I have tested are)

Day Bed / Plant Support / Pot Display…

What is this to you? When we choose a piece of furniture, quite often it isn’t the original or obvious use which excites us, but the thoughts of what else it could be used for…

Admittedly it was the shape of the soft curves & the proportions of this beautiful Day Bed which caught our eye… imagining it with soft cushions, lounging with you cup or glass of something & a good book… this would look stunning inside or outside.

However, who says it should ‘just’ be a day bed? We could instantly see it being used in different ways…

* an alternative plant support. Nestled within the border supporting your tall structured perennials such as delphiniums or digitalis contrasting against the soft curves or tall, wafting annuals such as Cosmos or Ammi gently billowing above the structure…

* A etagere of sorts… different pots with plants grouped on the bed, beside it and under it… creating a beautiful composition…

All the Green’s Shelfie…

Are you a complimentary colour person or a contrasting colour person?
All similar colours together and a limited colour palette but playing with shape, tone, scale & texture… or are you a riot of colour!

I think (mostly) I am a ‘complimentary colour’ or ‘limited colour palette’ person, I find a calmness to it… not that I don’t appreciate or enjoy a delightful cacophony of colour. I definitely like to add a splash of colour and the energy that brings to a limited colour palette but my ‘favourite’ splash of colour changes so frequently that I find a splash easier to manage! 😄

So which are you?
